Physical Education Project
Quarter 3 2014 (Maher PE)
Quarter 3 2014 (Maher PE)
Part 2 2014
Due Date: Tuesday, March 25, 2014
Partner Project—50 points each. (two people)
For this project, you will be working with a
partner. You will need to have a partner who has either the ability to take and
print photos or draw simple figures. You will be creating a display based on the
Part 1 myology and kinesiology. Your display should be no larger than 20 inches
high, it may be free standing or on a single display poster board.
You will analyze three things, two mandatory, and
one of your own choice. The two mandatory are based on the Physical Fitness
tests for curl-ups and
push-ups. Your third item of your choice may be some type of exercise
or a simple move such as a basic basketball shot, or jumping vertically.
You will need to photograph a beginning position,
and active position(s) and any other appropriate part. (You may also do a
drawing of each phase). From these, you will then analyze what primary muscles
are used, what joints are actively used, and what type of movement is
used—extension, flexion, etc?
On your display, you will need to post the
original part 1 (which will be returned) for reference, and then all the
pictures/drawings with the labels. A short explanation for each item needs to be
presented to explain the myology and kinesiology of the activity.
Your names should be on the back of the display
or poster. It is possible that you will be asked permission to put your project
on display in the library.
